“We are thankful for a great weekend here in London, in spite of it being Bank Holiday Monday! We were thrilled to see first time visitors in the services Sunday. On Bank Holiday Monday, our church football team participated in a six a side tournament for churches in London. It was a great time of fellowship together with some men in the church. This Wednesday, we are continuing down Route 66 through each book of the Bible in the book of Numbers. Friday Evening, our ladies are having a ladies fellowship and several people, without Christ, are planning to attend. We are praying for their salvation. Bible Institute for this semester is just about complete. We are finishing Hermeneutics at the end of next week. The three young preachers in the Institute are doing extremely well in their studies. We hope you have a great week serving the Lord!”

Our Featured Missionary for the months of May and June is John Anderson. Bro. Anderson and his family are missionaries to London, England. He recently wrote:

“Greetings from London, England! We are thankful for the good week that we had this past week and for a great Sunday today. We are rejoicing because a young man from India whom we have witnessed to for the past 18 months turned from Sikhism to embrace Christ alone as his personal Saviour at the end of church services this morning! We are excited about his profession of faith this morning and for the three visitors that came to services this evening. Only in London can you have visitors from Poland, Korea and Iraq all on a regular Sunday Evening Service! Please pray for the busy week ahead, as we serve the Lord in Bible Institute Training, evangelistic efforts, and continuing discipleship with new converts. We hope you have a great week in the Lord!”

Our Featured Missionary for the months of March and April is Mike Lane. Bro. Lane and his family are missionaries to Honduras. He recently wrote:

“One of the interesting features of our mission work in Honduras is the variety of people and settings in which we minister. I have preached in city churches where the people may include bankers, teachers, doctors, wealthy business men, as well as the more common working man (or woman). But, I also have preached to Islanders, farmers and those who live in remote high mountain areas that require a horse, mule, or a pair of strong legs (old timers used to call them “shank’s mares”). The vast majority of time I’ve used the latter to reach these distant locations. It is amazing how far back in the hills some of these people live. To me, at my age, it is not a “fun hiking outting”, but I try to make the most of all of my opportunities in life to enjoy and learn from people. First, I am thankful to be able to still do this. (I’m rounding the bend to 60 years). A few years ago, I wondered if I’d be able to ever do it again, but by God’s great grace, He healed me of prostate cancer and a blocked artery, all through natural treatments. (I use Cantron to stay cancer-free and occasional Chelation capsules to help with artery health.) It is a privilege to still be able to go to these remote villages, all of them controlled by the Catholic religion, and preach the glorious, saving and liberating gospel. We have seen many saved and baptized and are building a church building in Zapotillo. Please pray for them. One of my preacher young men is from the village and is a student in our Bible Institute. Thank you for your prayers that God will continue to strengthen us that we may go and tell them of a Saviour that loves them and wants to save them!

“I thought this week I would write about our schedule on Sunday mornings, as we leave our home in La Esperanza and journey to our mountain works to hold services. First, our home is in a bowl in the mountains about 5500 ft. elevation. From there, we will be going up and down mountains for about two hours. At 7:00 AM Sunday, a half-dozen, more or less, load up in the 450 Ford flat bed dually. The big diesel starts up, sounding like an irritated Grizzly, disturbed from a long winter’s nap. We start off praying and continue praying that we will reach our destination safely and that God will bless our services. Hotir, my young assistant pastor, in his mid-twenties, usually drives. My wife first taught him to drive. In spite of that, he is great driver (ha!). He started attending with us when he was about 10 years old on our front porch in my wife’s Bible Class. It is such a blessing to see the spiritual growth and leadership developing in our people over the last 15 years on the field. If road conditions allow it, after 20 miles, we will arrive in the first community, Ojo de Agua (Eye or Spring of Water), where we built a church in 2008. There we drop off some folks and usually gain a few that want to attend our other services further on. A few miles down the road, we drop off another young preacher, Salvador, in a community, Naranjito (Little Orange), 30 miles away where a building went up in 2011. Service begins at 9:00 a.m. Afterwards, we backtrack, pick up people along the way and try to start about 11:00 a.m. in Ojo De Agau, our first community. After the service, visiting, talking, counseling, etc., we pack up and try to get back home over the sometimes slick, always rough dirt roads. Arriving at La Esperanza at about 2:30 p.m. (Last Sunday it was 4:30 because of a detour caused by muddy roads), everyone eats, rests and prepares for the evening service in La Esperanza at 6:00 p.m., I call them our Marathon Sundays. They are costly, in time, effort, energy and maintenance on our old vehicles, but 6 churches in various stages of development and many souls being saved and baptized make the investment worth it, for time and especially eternity.

“Dear Co-Laborers,

Recently some of our people went to a conference near the capital city. They were so encouraged about soul-winning that when they came back home the following week, they put into practice what they had been encouraged to do. They went to a couple of the communities that we have been working in and breaking up into small groups, won 13 people to the Lord in one community and 12 in another. This is a very great blessing and pray that we’ll be able to advance the work there. Our main church in La Esperanza has caught a vision for reaching out into the more Indian communities in the mountains surrounding our town. Again, we are working in 7 areas, trying to establish indigenous churches, run by their own national pastors. Currently, we have 3 independent churches that we have helped in the past that have their own land, buildings and pastors. Another 6 have leaders that we have helped train in our Bible Institute and several others that we have supported in helping to get started with land, buildings and training. We thank God for faithful prayer and financial support that make this great task possible. Thank you for being a vital part of world-wide missions.
