Bro. Andy Lake
Andy Lake was born and raised in West Virginia. His parents were active in the local church, raising him with a strong grounding in God’s word, and at a young age, he accepted Christ as his personal savior. At the age of 12 he heard God’s call to the ministry, and finally at the age of 15 surrendered to become a pastor.
As an older teen, however he began to turn his back on the things of God, and started living a life for himself. At the age of 20, he left his home in West Virginia to pursue a career as a professional athlete. Completely dismissing the things of God, and living a life of rebellion, Andy experienced the chastising hand of God. At the age of 24, he returned from eating with the pigs, and ran to the arms of his awaiting father. He then, began seeking the will of God for his life.
While attending Florence Baptist Temple, in Burling, Kentucky, God place a young lady in his path named Sarah Saner. Andy quickly developed a love for Sarah, and in June of 2006, they were married. Sarah and Andy have been serving together ever since. God has richly blessed them with two children, Danielle (05/14/08) and Gabriel (10/16/10).
In March of 2008, Pastor Green saw fit to ask Andy to take a position as the maintenance man here at Grace Baptist Church. He served in this position for 6 months, and in September of the same year, Pastor called him to be the Children’s pastor. Andy is responsible for the Children’s ministries from Nursery – Sixth grades, Bus Ministries, Building and Grounds, and other areas of service.
